How would you like it if somebody took your advice, and got hurt or killed, along with other people? YOU would have blood on your hands, JERK.

By the way, JERK, we're still waiting to hear about that criminal summons. Since you're so ready to comment upon everything, why not comment on that?

Copy that. It infuriates me that somebody is doing this... and if somebody who doesn't know better, takes this as gospel. Still, you are correct Elliot. No sense in sinking to that level.

James found one in his surplus of parts. Thanks James. Anyone know where I can find a second one?

A single new clevis is $399 from Cessna.

Fortunately for me, James donated one used clevis (can't thank him enough) and I was able to purchased a second used one from Texas Aircraft Salvage for $95.

Now that I've stripped off the old paint and polished these up I'm wondering if these have to be repainted. Anyone know what type of steel these are made out of? Will they rust if left unpainted.

I also noticed that one has an extra hole in it that the other does not have. Is this a problem? I'm assuming this extra hole is for inspection purposes so one can verify there is a sufficient amount of threaded steering rod inside the clevis before locking it down.

I believe mine are unpainted and it seems to be a non-issue. Not sure what to tell you about the hole, but your assumption makes sense...

They should be cad plated, or they'll rust.

That said, the steel parts on my tailwheel springs are primed with Rustoleum primer, then painted with Rustoleum white appliance epoxy. Looks okay to me.

Or, Perhaps the hole is there to accept a grease fitting for your John Deere tractor grease.
