Is anyone interested in a 1 yr old Garmin 296 with current data/terrain database?

I am thinking of selling mine.

It is sweet, but I am thinking of just navigating naked...dead reckoning only.

Paul,

If you don't need the money from the sale, keep the GPS. Turn it off if you prefer the challenge of "flying naked". But it's handy to have when visibility is bad, or when you go into unfamiliar airports.

Hung:

Yes, I know. That part was a joke. I'm going to fly with a GPS.

Paul,
I have a friend that may be interested. What is your price? (If you would like you can PM me.)

I have received 14 emails and pm's to this rather hasty announcement that I was thinking of selling my G-296 . It looks like there is a market for used G-296s.

I am really waiting to see what Garmin has to announce at Oshkosh because as you all know, "Blueberry" only gets the best (self-depreciating jab).

So, if Garmin announces M&M colored 396s or an integrated Ipod, I am going to not buy that, but opt for the current 396 and sell this 296. I just want the weather thingy. For those interested in this absolutely perfect Garmin 296, just wait a few weeks and I will toss it out there (for return money, of course).

It looks like they are going on E-bay for a little less than a grand.

Matthew and I talked to the reps at Aircraft Spruce Monday. Seems they say the only difference between the 396 and the model being released in Oshkosh, is the new model has a voice that talks to you. A talking GPS!
