Hi, I have an RT328T that was DOA after my aircraft purchase. The aircraft has an MX300 that works great so I am thinking of replacing the RT328T with another MX300. Just looking for options and to see if anyone has an MX300 they want to sell. Black face preferably.

I just don't like having a single COM/NAV and after buying the plane my budget is limited so a Garmin 430W with NAV/COM is not in the cards (which is what I really want!) Thanks.

Before buying a used one, ask for the serial number and check with TKM. They now won't work on older ones.

I'm not sure what a display belt is but the RT328 does not transmit or receive. All the knobs work fine. I don't know if I will sell it since it would cost more to fix than it's worth.

If the radio doesn't work and you don't foresee needing it for parts, sell it. Someone can use it for parts, fix it, or use it for display in a non-flying plane grin

You might try switching around the radios in their trays. Just in case there is an issue with the wiring.

I know you said funds are limited, Mark, but you may want to have an avionics shop take a quick look. They can pull it out (or you could) and bench check it. Probably wouldn't cost a lot and would let you know for sure if there is something wrong with it and if so, whether or not it could be easily fixed. It might just be a fuse or something like that, either internal to the radio or in the airplane. Our #2 NAV/COM fuse sometimes acts up even though the fuse it good. I can turn the fuse holder and it usually starts working. I would hate to see you spend money for a new radio when you don't really need one (even though I realize you may want a more modern radio). The second NAV/COM may not get used a whole lot.
