Ah, man...getting foolish thoughts in my head right now.

I do love those airplanes (first balsa wood model I built as a kid). I've always justified owning something more modern by being a tightwad - if it's got that kind of power and fuel burn, it's got to go faster. Those things are so beautiful, but, sadly, so slow.

Warmest regards,
Rick

Yawbut...115 knots on 15-17 GPH unfortunately starts to get painful.

But, that nice big cabin...and those lines...

Hmmm...a club plane? Wikipedia (that oh so reliable source) says she cruises at 154 kts! - no I don't buy it either,
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stinson_Reliant
But the Stinson page says -
Crew: one, pilot
Capacity: 3 to 4 passengers
Length: 29 ft 6 in
Wingspan: 41 ft 10 in
Height: 9 ft 2 in
Empty weight: 2,530 lb
Useful load: 1,345 lb
Powerplant: 1× Lycoming, 245 hp / Wright, 350 hp / Pratt & Whitney, 450 hp

Performance
Cruise speed: 152 mph
Range: 650 mi
Service ceiling: 12,700 ft

I like the club or joint ownership idea, although finding tailwheel pilots to go in on a big classic like that might be a little tricky.

They're dreaming on the speed. I've spoken to a number of gullwing Reliant owners who have told me to figure on 130 MPH for the cruise speed. It's got that big, fat wing and big cabin. On the same power, the Cessna 195 runs 130 knots or so and the 210 more than 150.

It was a handful... The 180 was easier to fly. It was based at FXE for a time...
