I am the owner. I go by what's in the log books.
Previous owner was an A&P who lost interest in flying due to numerous regulations and policies put into effect by the State of New York. He pickled the engine on the plane as it was tied down outside in the Long Island salt air. The atmosphere has caused enough corrosion to make the restoration of the entire a/c economically unfeasible. He was flying about 10 hours a year. No prop strike. Yes, it is a great price. Mags and new harnesses were installed when #4 cylinder was overhauled. In 10 days it will cost much more. Free to come down with your mechanic and check it over if your are interested.

you're within striking distance of me... and JBN's engine is running on condition and will probably exceed 1900 hours by the end of the year so I've certainly got my eyes open for something like this.

Readily available cash is an issue though... a couple other expenses have first priority.

hmm - I need to set aside a bank account so I'm ready to pounce when these pop up!

Barney, given it doesn't have pitting in the prop flange radius or any other fatal corrosion, I'd take it at the OBO price. I need an engine for Tim Noto's former 150 that I want to get back in the air for IFR training. Tim's engine had corrosion, from being in NY and then Florida, that led me to pull it apart and I've yet to get it back together (had to throw away the crankshaft). Got cash and plenty of frequent flyer miles to get out there to package it for shipping.
