PS - I just ran such a search and came up with two Cessna 150s with completed listings, but neither bid process met the reserve price. That is a data point suggesting the market may still be soft for sellers:

No offense taken. I'm glad to hear everyone's opinions on the matter. Not forced to buy them out. Just think it's the prudent thing to do. My idea, not theirs.

Hire a certified aircraft appraiser that you both agree on and let him/her do the leg work.
