I don't know a thing about this airplane, but the price seems ridiculously low ... I'm going to be in Fairbanks in a couple of weeks, so if anyone is interested let me know and I'll check it out. If it checks out, I'll deliver it to the lower 48 for expenses and a return flight to Anchorage.

Besides, Jim, Terry wants to fly it south and I doubt Cindy would let you let him do that smile.

Maybe part of the repair was replacing the stock engine with the 150hp Lycoming?

I remember when I was looking for Cardinals to buy. I came across one '68 Cardinal that someone stole and ran it off the end of the runway. The owner at the time decided to upgrade the engine from 150 to 180hp as part of the repair.

We'll know in two weeks if our 150/150 will be going up on to the auction block for not much more than this............

.........and yes, it was involved in an accident in 1987 but the engine conversion was not an outcome of the accident, but was given for the primary excuse by the pilot for the accident.

Of our group here that used to go everywhere together there are only two remaining that still have airplanes, Warner and us. frown The longest cross country flights we have made the past few years have been just hopping over to the Alvord. Our I/A is slowly slipping into retirement. This, and other considerations, we very well may be doing a different type of flying with a different type of airplane by the time the Alvord comes around this year, Dale! wink

What May 7 brings will decide our flying fate. confused
