Set your wish list, (standards, equipment, condition) and TAKE YOUR TIME. It can be long time finding the right bird, but when you do, it's more than worth it.

Cheap, well-equipped, good condition.

Pick two.

Don't fall in love another man's airplane until after you bought it.

And that is the golden rule to always keep front and center as the euphoria and emotional high associated with buying a plane, unlike most any other possession, can be so alluring.

The white cane needs to stay safely locked away in the closet during this time.

There's a lot of obvious junk out there and other junk with a pretty face and lipstick....tread carefully with your eyes wide open.

FYI, anyone... I'm going to look at a local 1977 C150, 4850 TT, 460 SMOH, All logs, NDH, asking $24.9K (Looks like it's been on the market awhile and the price dropped from 27 to 26, to this.) The photos look good (average), STOL kit, new tires, recent alternator, Brackett air filter, good glass; avionics not too impressive Mk170B 720 chan, King KT78 transponder with encoder, intercom. It's listed on Trade A Plane, N704HK at Georgetown and being sold by a broker, John Cannan.
