PS: Nephew is areo engineer for NASA at Langley. Works with their wind tunnel. Ask him about MythBuster show where they put golf ball dimples all over a car and got 10% better gas mileage. Ask why I would not put golf ball dimples on my C150.

Will not go into his whole explaination (which I did not really understand) but he said airflow around cars was much more turbulent than around airplanes, differnet drag aspects etc etc etc. Just because something works on a plane does not mean it will help a car and vice versa.

Good wife, good friends & a Cessna 150. Life is good.

They do. Same for big trucks. They are becoming more popular over time.

Harley-Davidson makes a motorcycle called the V-Rod. In the R&D phase, they had a hard time getting enough air to go thru the radiator as it was their 1st production liquid cooled model. They just refused to put an oversized radiator on the bike. Their solution was to install vortex generators on the inside of the opening of the shroud that went around the radiator to direct more air thru it, making the radiator more efficient.

I wonder how well that concept will work on the downtown connector? smirk

Update on the sale, fresh annual done . New owner flying in Saturday 15th , to fly her away. she will be in a hanger at Greeley (KGXY) I thinks this is where David Rowland is based at . New owners name is Jerry , Hopping he joins the 150-152 club , and makes it out to Clinton this year. I didn't think it would hurt this bad to sale my plane. Sad day for me

Wow, Kevin! I spent a lot of time in Greeley between November 2010 and June, 2011. David Rowland is from an airport just south of there. But that's where he has his avionics work done. There's a cafe there at the FBO, too. I met Joel Kiester and Lexi Armitage there in the spring of 2011 as they were planning their trip to Sun and Fun.

As for feeling bad that you sold your 150, I understand that. I often talk about going experimental and fast, but the thought of not being able to fly my 150/150 TD up in the mountains or out to the desert...yep, I'd miss that.

Hang in there! Just like a girlfriend. The best way to get over one is to go get another. grin
