Gerald,
There is a guy selling his 150 here on my field, its mostly original and from what I hear its in good shape. I know the shop that did the last annual and the owner is also a pilot/AME. Also the best part is that he's in Canada.
I am an AME, but still just a student pilot(hope to be finished by end of sept) and I bought my 150 in Florida and imported it. My advise too you, from someone who has recently done it, is that if your not an AME, don't buy one out of the US unless you are absolutely in love with it, or that it is a good deal.
There are very many great 150's for sale in the US, however our Canadian Government makes it a money pit to import an aircraft. First you have to pay GST on the purchase price of the aircraft, then pay another $2000 to a transport Canada delegate to sign off on the import, after you have an AME do an annual inspect. And that is all on top of the purchase price and the expense of getting it to you home airport.
Again there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a US aircraft just a lot of nonsense bringing it into Canada.
Prime example, is that it cost me an additional $5000 to have mine up and running in Canada, and that didn't include the time I put into the aircraft. This was ok for me as I got a very good deal on my aircraft, and work on it myself. Just a couple things to think about is all.
I will PM you with the name and contact info for the 150 for sale here in Saint John, NB
