Future 150-152 member from putnam co (4i7) bought a 66 150 minus the engine. The previous owner used the engine for a homebuilt. He is looking for an o-200 and all accessories for his new purchase. Any suggestions ? let me know.

Hmmmm...
The "bargain" 150 airframe he purchased won't seem like much of a "bargain" when he has to buy a complete FWF engine outright w/o and "core" to exchange, or available for rebuild.
The easiest would be to find a complete engine from a salvaged 150.... hopefully where the airframe was damaged but the engine was not ( not crashed) like wind damaged, or flood damaged.....
But still you will have an engine with "X" hours on it, may be even high time that you would have to do the whole overhaul and new accessories game....
AND- the salvage yards know exactly what a complete FWF set-up is worth. Will the logs be available too? Option "B" is buying the 0-200 off a guy who is doing the 150HP conversion, but again, he will know what a FWF engine is worth and will want max value to fund his very expensive conversion.

Keep your eyes open. I have seen several midtime O-200's on E-bay and Barnstormers in the last 6 months. Seemed pretty reasonable prices too.

When I get home in 3 weeks, I will call an engine rebuilder I know and ask him if he might have or know an engine your friend can buy.

I was not joking, or at best, only "half-joking."

How many times can a 40-year-old/50-year-old/60-year-old engine be rebuilt?
When does it come time to say "my life is worth the money it takes for a new engine?"
I'm no expert. Just asking.
