OK, I've pondered this long enough. Given the choice between these two nav-coms, what are the majority of your druthers? And yes, I'm a big Garmin fan, but what if someone were to offer you either....which would you choose?

KX-155 [gulf-coast-avionics.com] vs. SL-30 [gulf-coast-avionics.com]

Hmmm, maybe I need the plane first, but we'll worry with that tomorrow.

KX-155 hands down.

I'm a Garmin guy, too...

but nothing can beat that old tank of a Nav/Com from Bendix King.

Hmmm, now that would be a tough choice to make. . . .

SL30 hands down. That is what I bought for the RV9 I'm building. Smaller, integral intercom, you can get crossing radials while using the CDI for primary Nav and many other features. The UPS now Garmin stuff is huge in the homebuilt market.

Bengie,

I currently have an Apollo SL60 GPS Com. It is a great radio with the intercom built in. I think the Apollo series has a more modern look to it. After I bought 72V, I sent the unit to Garmin for an update on the intercom, and they were great.

I personally would buy the SL30 if it were me. I like the slim profile, and how the intercom is built into the unit. I also like how you can monitor the standby frequency.

Just my 2 cents.

Again: GARMIN. Nothing else stacks up feature for feature and you can not beat Tomorrow-UPSAT-nowGarmin quality. You just can't <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
