I don't know what printer you have, Steve, but you might try looking at this article:

There are (new to me) specific printing apps from several manufacturers for their wireless printers. Some seem to work without Airprint. Perhaps one of those or Ron's suggestion might help.

EuroSmartz has a couple of apps that enable you to print to any printer. I think you need to run some software on a computer connected to the printer so it can share it with you. Look for Print n Share in the App Store. You'd can then look at other apps from the developer.

I have two of their apps, but haven't really needed to print anything from an iOS device. Other than a test print, I haven't used the apps much. They seemed to work OK. Most of the time I need to print something I'm actually creating a document and I am usually at a computer when I do that.

Mark, the kids are great, thanks for asking. I got them both a can of MMO and an ethanal test kit for Christmas. How is your family?? LOL. Sorry didn't mean to break protocal. I will PM next time, still a little green on the posting. Not in the 2500+ club yet.

On a more topic related matter I will be ordering a verizion 4g 64G full size i pad right after Christmas.

Just got off the phone with my brother's 12 year old grandson.

The APP he installed in my brother's ipad to print is called

Print N Share

I was told it cost $9.51 in the Apple App Store.
When I asked him if it was hard to set up he said:

"If you've go a kid around it's not hard"

He always was a bit of a Smart Alic.
Really a good kid though.

You open the app and add sites you want and them print from the app.

I had my 10 year old grandson set it up, cost me an ice cream.
