Time to resurrect this thread.

I've got a 1970 K, and want to put windows in the lower half of the doors.

It looks like I can de-rivet where the stiffener attaches to the skin, cut the hole in skin, put the Plexiglas between the stiffener and the "window frame" portion of the skin, then just re-rivet.

Having been in a Patroller, I can tell you that just the square foot or so of window really makes a difference in visibility to the sides and down.

Mike Sibley is the guy to talk to on square doors, which is a different question that I was asking in this thread. He's got a kit and drawings to do them.

I'm as far as you can drive from DC without having to be in California or veer north.

Lessee, the 38th parallel N, runs from south DC to Tonopah, NV, directly east of San Francisco Bay, somewhere along Hwy. 6 in Nevada.......

Hello Keith
I do make the frame and cut out the Lexan lens. I use the good 10 year lexan. The kit comes with drill bit, rivets, frames, lenses and a nice finish piece to cover the inside door latch mechanism and a nice set of instructions. All you need to get is the sealant. PM me a line if you want one.

To the guys guessing, you're in the right neighborhood. When I'm not on contract, I live on a dirt strip where my planes are hangared.

Mike, I tried email but no answer. I'll PM. I'm looking forward to seeing pics, too.

What hoops did you have to jump through to get it approved by Uncle Freddy?
