If "sans" means unattached, then does it mean the engine is available but unattached too? I only read what you wrote; I can't read your mind.

Sans means without, but I asked just to clarify to help get a better picture.

That's what I remember from my French lessons over 35 years ago, but maybe it means "unattached" to some people. grin

Well, to those trying to answer my question, thanks.....

I asked the question about the wings missing or not in the 5th post after your original.
Never got an answer so I can see how others assumed.

Kieth,
This is not the exclusive club that belittles others by any stretch.
I am sure any smart a$s answers were just in fun and that is hard to convey on a forum with just typed words.
I think you have received some good answers from some great people.
Don't know what else you are looking for. confused

I spent 3 years in New York and came to really appreciate the cultural humor built into the language ...

OK, lied.....I'm still here...was asked to stay
Let me try this again, and PLEASE, I'm just looking for a little help and info, not a critique of my semantics, or smug comments OK?, I inadvertently left out a word in my original post, mea culpa.....
The A/C in question is a '78 152, compete, but without an engine. The group that owns it wanted to do a O-320 150hp hotrod job, but found the STC too expensive for their program. The group is a non-profit that does restorations and mods with young students, and they trade work time for dual instruction. It's run by committee, so it moves slowly. I don't know what they paid for the airplane, but I felt that if I could get it cheap enough, it would pay off to have the group put her back together, and perhaps do a Taildragger mod, and a STOL program as well. So, that's my question, what might it be worth ballpark, hopefully not Ryan Braun's salary! My biggest expense will be the engine.
So, if anyone would like to give me ideas, (without spelling corrections), I am listening......

It'd help to know the condition of the airframe, TTAF, paint, any corrosion, what equipment it has, any outstanding ADs, etc. Then we can come up with the value of a complete plane (with engine) and figure out how much to deduct for the missing engine and the labor cost to install an engine in it.

150 hp STC, nosebowl and gross weight increase from DelAir: $1500.00
(you supply the rest of the additional parts)

Used, Runout 0-320, around 4-6k

Rebuild, around 8-12k
(you're doing most of the work)

Parts, pieces, bits, paint and other assorted shi.....er......stuff....$$$$$$

Paint?
6k and up
(or muuuch less if you strip and paint)
