I suspect that first logbook has the engine installation info. If the STC paperwork is also missing, this could be an expensive airplane to make legal. It's flyable, once you supply an alternator, pilot seat and some cowl mounts. I've seen many used cars needing "just" a few little things. I may be wrong here, but usually what's obviously wrong is only the tip of the iceberg.
