It may be a bit premature...but I've never really done things in the right order...

If there was a plane of the above description with 14,000 plus hours on the airframe, and the engine was past TBO...but it was a lot of fun...would it sell?

150/150E
150 hp Lycoming O-320 E2D
74 inch Sensenich Prop
Long range tanks (40 gal. Total)
Texas Tailwheel Conversion
Sportsman STOL with aileron gap seals
BAS handle on the tail
KY-97a Com
AT-150 XPDR
Been rode hard, but not put away wet too many times.
145 mph. flat out or 125 normal cruise @ 8.4 gph.
1000 fpm climb typical unless full tanks, two people, and baggage.

Asking price would be reasonable.

Thoughts?

I have a few thoughts if this means what I think it means:

1. This is sad news.

2. Things just wouldn't be the same.

3. But.....just imagine the possibilities.

4. I wish I was 20-30 years younger and thinking about those possibilities.

5. I hope it stays in the family here.

6. Don't tell a potential buyer about the flying naked part of it's life.

7. This plane and that other yellow one are club icons. One quick glance and it's instantaneous: Hey....here comes Gary or Uncle Eddie.

8. Did I mention that things just wouldn't be the same? frown

I have a few thoughts if this means what I think it means:

1. This is sad news. Not really! wink

2. Things just wouldn't be the same. Could be a lot more fun! grin

3. But.....just imagine the possibilities. YEA! grin grin

4. I wish I was 20-30 years younger and thinking about those possibilities. (Never too old! wink )

5. I hope it stays in the family here. (Yep!)

6. Don't tell a potential buyer about the flying naked part of it's life. (lol)

7. This plane and that other yellow one are club icons. One quick glance and it's instantaneous: Hey....here comes Gary or Uncle Eddie. (True)

8. Did I mention that things just wouldn't be the same? (May not be the same. But depending on who gets 61U, sure could add an exciting chapter to the story! wink smile laugh grin )

Did anyone mention "Imagine the possibilities?" wink

grin

Oh how I would like to be the owner of that purdy, meticulously maintained bird. Anyone who's seen the spring chicken knows exterior flare and low ttaf aren't my biggest priorities smile alas plane trading is a costly endeavor. So, you have that RV kit on order already? smile

Well... I have to say that my plane is not meticulously maintained. Never borrow a mechanic's car, boat, or plane. grin grin

An RV is definitely a consideration...but there's something else that has caught my eye that might even fit my mission profile even more correctly.

I'm gettin' tired of flying planes that won't do anything I ask them to do, especially in Cessna, Iowa. grin grin At this point, my options are open. We'll see how things go. But, I promise, I will NOT resort to that irritating "Watch This Space" kind of thing.
