I saw a Sport Pilot article on some folks who built their 7a for camping. They had all their "stuff" alongside the plane. I still figure their are either lying, or put it all in a trash compactor to get it in, but they had a lot packed in there.

As for the Cardinal, I have not seen 150 mph enough to know. I typically cruise at about 2350 rpm and between 19 and 21 MP and that yields about 8.5 and 143 mph. Although things have changed speed wise with the addition of the exhaust fairing (it "seems" faster, but should only gain about 3-4 mph). I haven't collected a lot of data yet, as I am still trying to find a standard operating procedure that feels right.

I am going to keep some more detailed info going to CWI, so hopefully will know more then. I still doubt I will run it at 2700, but may try a stint at 2500 just to check it out. It is a 1770 hour engine, so I don't want to abuse it.
