Perhaps I don't have the vision...but, open cockpit? Taildragger? It might be fun for a weekend...but to commit to using that aircraft exclusively? I don't think so.

Well Gary, with 100LL hitting $6.00 per gallon here, that means that it now costs us 10 times more to fly then to drive. frown

Which means we'll be flying less, driving more, and sticking closer to home. In which a slower, open cockpit, plane will do just fine.

Will look around if you're interested.

The TAP website ad. Not in NW, but in Illinois. Sorry for the confusion.

Dennis, I have numerous hours in an Alon. And I thoroughly enjoyed flying it. But if we replace the 150, it will be with an experimental. We are seeking the freedoms that an experimental still has to offer.

Thanks anyways!

Okay. Hows about this one? The Little Wing has always had my eye, even though it's not fixed-wing. The two-place version, LW-5 could possibly work for you & Justina. Certainly would have good short-field numbers

Is it just me, or is "Woody Pusher" the dumbest name ever for an airplane ... or anything else for that matter?

Bill,
I have never even seen a Woody's Pusher but I do have a little time in both seats of an AirCam. It looks like to me that the AirCam is a twin engined version of the Woody's Pusher.

I would STRONGLY urge you to take an extended test flight before you make any decision. The front cockpit of the CamAir is fairly comfortable (for an open cockpit airplane). The wind in the back seat is a major issue, even with a full face motor cycle helmet.

For an hour or so it is a fun airplane to fly.

Wayne,
What does the combination of a high thrust line and taildragger configuration do to the take-off characteristics?
