The Zenith CH750 has my vote and will probably be my choice if/when I have to go LS.

The factory is about 80 miles NW of St. Louis at Mexico, MO. I got my TD training there. The Zenith guys would roll the 701 model (the only STOL version they had then) out of the hangar, fire it up, and take off from their ramp. The plane would be at 100 ft by the time it reached the regular taxiway and climbing like a scared cat up a tree.

Awesome to watch.

The only caveat: I'll have to carry a gallon pee jar when I fly XC. Realistic cruise is around 85kt.

The wing folding takes two people. But, it is not hard.

Found this one listed in Trade a Plane. http://www.aerohunter.com/ads/2009-zenair-zenith-601xl-b-upgraded The price in Trade a Plane is 37K and some change. Closer to Bills numbers, he could make an offer and maybe they would bite.

I do not recall however was it the 601s or the 700 series that was grounded for coming apart in flight?

No sweat Bill. Peace of cake! A few new challenges is all. Remember to fly her all the way to and from the chocks and you'll do just fine.

What ever happened to all the hype about changing the LSA requirements to allow the 150/152 into the mix?
