I look forward to see what you get for a replacement...if money wasn't an issue, I'd suggest the Valor V22 (I think thats what you call it up there) down here its called a Foxbat A22 Click Here [ foxbat.com.au] A fine aircraft for up you way too, great performance, (thought the dog might be an issue)Enjoy Brand new one on amphibious floats for sale at my home airport. Flight school has another one that they are using for LSA training/rental along with two Gobosh. GOBOSH [ gobosh.aero] Of the two, the Gobosh is proving to be the more popular model, nice little hotrod. The Valor is a nice little ship and has some interesting performance parameters but it is very limited, can only operate in light winds and I've not been impressed with its construction. Very lightly constructed with Thin aluminum and plastic held together with pop rivets. It will be interesting to see how it holds up. I guess I expect more from a $100,000.00 purchase. The Valor does have Great visibility, and awesome slow speed handling - short field and soft field capabilities. The pilots do seem to really enjoy flying it.

Two planes of interest have poked above the horizon here now. A 100 HP Rans Coyote II and an 80HP Sky Ranger. It appears on paper that the Sky Ranger may have more possibilities. Over 600 pounds of useful load and apparently a larger baggage compartment. You will not find a better engineered, stronger LSA than a Rans. Randy S. is a fanatic about solid engineering (and making improvements, as in the Coyote II) and great flying qualities.
I have visited their shop here in Kansas numerous times, as well as several other LSA/kit manufacturers (I traveled 11 states for 7 years for my job), and rate RANS at the top along with the RV folks.

Wouldn't mind trying one of those out. | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 844 Member/750+posts | Member/750+posts Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 844 | Bill--You want space in the back and 600-650s useful? Check out the Wagbond at Wagaero.com They will manufacture--maybe you will have to shop around for the covering and engine.
I'm building one, but I don't reccommend that if you want to get in the air soon. [ Linked Image] I think this is my new favorite LSA.

I saw some of these fly at the Triple Tree Fly-in last year, and was pretty impressed with them. [ Linked Image] They sell them as either a kit or a factory built plane. The baggage area appears to be about the same size as the C-152, if I remember correctly. Available as a taildragger or with a nose wheel, what ever your preference. But the cheapest I have found for sale is over $50,000. Double our budget! Bill Grants Pass, Oregon | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 13,969 Member/10,000+ posts! | Member/10,000+ posts!
