I think you'd be backin' up.
We may have to place you in the Southeast contingent of
'projects that need to be completed' category!
Lawd knows, I've got my share of them, already.

Your always shaking it up, Gary!
I love the fact that eventhough you have a plane that you love to fly and maintain, you've always got your eye's peeled for something more.
Maybe there will be a hot 150hp TD coming to market soon...........I better start taking some rudder pedal dancing lessons.
Good luck with all your research, and final decision.

Gary, I thought you would especially appreciate the Powerflow exhaust article! (150's and 172's have identical handling characteristics on treadmills, so I didn't bother sending that article)

What radios does it have? How's the paint? The interior? If all are average, a 172 with a runout engine (I know it may be running great and could go another 1000 hours) is probably not a great deal at 25K. It's not terrible but it's not great. Unless you needed the additional carrying capacity, I would imagine the 172 would be a lot less fun to fly than your current ride. When I fly a 172 it feels like driving a loaded dump truck compared to the towplane (180hp A150L). Just an opinion and your eyes on the plane in question trumps any opinion I have sight unseen. I'm sure you'll weigh all the options and your intended mission before making a decision.

Gary, unless you like to carry lots of people around you are sure going to miss the performance of the 150/150. I personally wouldn't make the trade.

The lot next to me is for sale and I couldn't think of a better neighbor! Oh and the fishing is good up here too!
Hey Gary! Ice fishing on Lake Erie! Now there is something you can't do in Texas! (and I don't mean the ice around the Coors Lite)
