He's trying to get the money he spent on the 430 out of it. It's still just a 150 with a nice gadget in it. It ain't worth what they are asking.

Her: "Get rid of that airplane!"

Him: "I am trying my lil Sugar Dumpling! Here, you can see the ad for yourself."

Actually, I think "she" is the one selling the plane, but I guess "Jackie" could be either gender.!

That's the rub when over investing in anything...no way to get the money back out. But, he only needs ONE buyer willing to pay the price and who's to say someone won't step up and write the check?

I have to admit I thought that it was way over priced, even with a 430 in it the plane doesn't look THAT special for that high of a price!

From the looks of the left panel the plane is hammered. Someone needs to change their brand smokes. If you ask top price you at least need to clean up the merchandise.

Other than the left panel plastic overlay, the plane appears to be in pretty good shape with some attractive avionics and a fresh engine with new cylinders. Granted, the transponder is ancient and the door panels clash, but not a horrible airplane. No, I wouldn't pay the asking price either but I think this 150 should be towards the high end of the range.

I'd gladly sell two 150s for what he's asking for one, but neither are worth as much as this listing. Heck, for $37k I'd sell two 150s [cessnasale.posterous.com]and return $7k.

No way I'd ever get out what I sunk into mine. If I ever did have to sell (no plans to, but "if") I'd price it reasonably and take the loss. No way around it: a 40+ year old 100HP C-150 just ain't worth forty grand. By the same token, unless you're a mechanic, there's no way to restore one for much less than forty grand (at least not from my experience).
