Mike,

You can ship anything you want to Clinton starting now. Mike Nass, the Airport manager will put it in a secured room and it will be waiting for you in Clinton.

Send any boxes or packages to :

Cessna 150-152 Fly-In
Clinton Municipal Airport
2000 S. 60th St.
Clinton, IA. 52732

Put your name somewhere on the outside of the package.

and remember, If you want this stuff back after the Fly-In, print a return shipping label and prepay the bill.
Put the return label in an envelope, and put it inside the box.
When you repack the box on Saturday, stick the return label on, and we will ship your stuff back to you on Monday after the Confab.

Can anyone recommend a reusable shipping container? Sleeping bedding, tent and cot. Shouldn't be that much. I just don't want to use a cardboard box and have it fall apart before I ship it back. Thanks!

How about one of the larger plastic storage containers available at Wall-Mart or Target?

My brother and his family use those containers whenever they go on their trips to VN. They take a lot of stuff to VN as gifts, and also bring back a lot of stuff. Those containers survived the baggage handlers at multiple stops during the trips.

There's also a cooler and duct tape. The plastic storage container is probably cheaper though.

A new season is upon us and I wonder if we could start a conversation about shipping our goodies in and out of Clinton. This year there is the added possibility of going on to Oshkosh, which is what I plan to do with my grandson, and that complicates my plans a little. I am trying to figure out how to manage shipping our camping gear to Clinton and then going on to again camp out at Oshkosh and finally ship my heavy stuff home from there. I wonder how many folks are planning to fly-in and camp at Oshkosh and I wonder if there is some way to ship from Clinton to Oshkosh? Is there anyone flying a C-130 into Clinton and then going on to Osh who take a few loads? smile Kidding but I'm sure you get my point. It looks like it's going to be a banner year for the 150/152 Fly-in and I am guessing lots of us are planning to go to Oshkosh too. Any ideas or suggestions short of buying all new gear at Osh? smile

The Clinton part is easy. Just box up your stuff and the airport staff will send it anywhere you want. I don't know anything about the Oshkosh end. I'm sure there is a procedure for receiving packages and mailing them after you leave. If you are an EAA member I'm sure there is info on their forum. If not, there is probably info on the Air Venture site.
