You could buy a beautiful C-180 for much less. But (there it is again) then you're out of the LSA catagory.
That SS Cub would sure be a ton of fun in the back country though wouldn't it Bill?

When I get a few moments I'll do some searches and report back. There are a couple of J-3 cubs for sale in my neck of the woods that are selling for around $30K that would be just as much fun and a lot less expensive. J-3 for sale [ alaskaslist.com]

Not a particularly fast airplane but boy-howdy...it sure climbs like crazy!!!! All in all a very nice and owner-friendly aircraft.
