Interesting. I suppose you'd have to get the FAA to issue an Experimental certificate since it never got beyond the prototype stage at Cessna. It looks like there's enough to be done to qualify as an amateur built experimental but you never know with the FAA.

100% of the plane in that picture was made by cessna. You would have to make a lot of parts to come up with your 51%.

Is it me, or does $10,000 seem like a bit much for that "project" pictured there?

Was thinking more like $3,500 tops...

Yeah, they ought to at least throw in a couple of wings for $10K. And I confess I'm partial to planes that weren't abandoned by the company after the prototype. wink

Yeah, I got up close and personal with my bank account today. Uhhhh, I'm sticking with what I have (barely!).

Might be a problem to get an experimental. It was sold to a salvage yard under the understanding it be destroyed. Cessna might complaine or block any kind of experimental ticket. If not I belief it could get an experimental by being a A/C with historical interest.

If the description is complete the vertical and Horizontal is missing. If there is the manufacturers drawings then you could recreate them. If I had cash I would take this project on as it is the only one. If I had excess cash I would have the money to put up a good fight on getting a flight permit. Does anyone have any old pics of the assembled aircraft? It looks quite boxy.

Seems like a nice candidate for an air museum to maintain on static display. One of a kind anything is hard to come by, much less a plane built and flown by Cessna.
