Yup - I just don't always remember to bring it. And on some really breezy days the cover blows off and pulls the strap back, tennis ball or not.

Where I'm tied down the tail faces the prevailing wind. The end result is that sometimes the top of the cover bows upward in a strong wind and sand gets blown in and trapped against the windshield. I end up with two lines of scratches forming a "V" on the windshield in about the same position as the cockpit bracing of a float-plane.

If the cover extended further back along the top of the plane, or better yet the front and rear fabric tied together, then I think the problem would be solved once and for all.

I went with Airplane Covers and it seems great. They even say it will wear out in time with constant use, but it is priced right and it only gets used periodically.

If you can afford the best, why not. But I bet you'd be as happy as me, for a long while, with the Airplane Covers. (

Straps BTW)

Chuck, I really like the one you have....does the top part of the cover go over the flap access panels? There is that seam on the wing right around that area that seems to leak. Thanks for all the great photos. MM
