....long range tanks? wink

To the sparrowhawk owners here, are the numbers advertised as "Climb 1,100ft/min; cruise 105-110 knots" optomistic?

1100'/min would sure be nice for normal climb. 110 Kts wouldn't be horrible either.

I'm also curious regarding the Sparrow Hawk claims as well hoping that they're close to accurate as I'm leaning toward doing that mod in the not to distant future. Don't really have the need for speed but an extra kick in the buttock on takeoff and climb would be nice this time of year.

I don't see 1100'/min climb more like 700 to 800 on a warm summer day (going to Clinton)
My cruise speed at 3500' and 2500 rpm was just shy of 110kts but I burned an average of 7 gph fuel.

Jim,

"...Who in their right mind would ever do this to a 150/152?..."

Someone with a huge amount of cash to burn (or really good financing!)

I like the 430 though.... WOW they spent some $$$!

I believe Bill Warner's 152 is right up there with this one, if not nicer. After seeing Bill's in person, I'd have to say his paint/interior may have the upper hand. Check out Bill's September 2006 Airplane-of-the-Month in the photos section.

Very nice bird. The $3200 for gap seals sounds incredibly high as they're not difficult to install. But as to the owner being in his right mind investing so much...

At least it for now it's still a free country and I saw a beautiful little Cessna at Clinton that probably had that much socked into it. As I recall, it had a Garmin 530 in the panel and I think an auto pilot(?)...among a whole lot of other spendy improvements. Unfortunately the owner (very rudely smile ) placed the cabin cover on it and prevented me from getting a better look and showing it to Jo Ann.

I applaud those who choose to take something as mundane as a Cessna 150/152 and transform it into such a neat little flying machine, which is obviously a labor of love...not dollars and cents.

Just my $.02 No more valid than the opinions of others.
