A good point, Matthew? How wide is a 302 across??

I believe that 302 engine is only putting out 150 HP because with a direct drive to the prop the RPM would have to be limited to keep the prop subsonic.

There could be a reduction drive there, line up the crankshaft and it comes out higher than the prop. Or it could be an elusion.

A planetary gear reduction drive would keep in line with the crankshaft, so I'm guessing it probably has a reduction drive. What concerns me more is the power:weight ratio. That V8 cannot be all that light....hardly seems worth the trouble.
