That's very much appreciated Lionel. I'm going to pull the lower tube off for swapping out tomorrow morning, and perhaps the upper tube for seal replacement as well. It's my understanding so far that there's a seal at the top of the upper tube that is basically only replaceable by taking the upper tube off. Does that sound right? I'm reading and re-reading my manuals so hopefully tomorrow isn't a big deal getting this done properly.

It's not a difficult process, Pushing the roll pin out can be interesting. When you do this part, make sure your strut is fully deflated. As well, prior to removing the roll pin, I pulled the lower strut off as well, then I did the roll pin and top strut removal. To pull the lower strut out,, you'll have to find a small hole at the bottom of the strut,, to push the lower spring retainer out of it's slot. I do believe that Charles outlined all of this under the tech section. With the spring retainer off,, and the top/lower links off,, just pull everything down and out,, trying to not get wet from the fluid that will fall out of it...

Once you've got the top roll pin out,, if you don't want to remove the top of the cylinder tube off, just push the valve assembly out,, through the bottom. It's easy to do,, once you've got that part out,, you can then replace the o ring that is on the top piece. Hope you read Charles post under the tech section,, excellent reading.
