hello,
i'm a new member on this site as of today. i'm looking forward in learning as much as i can about these little 150's.
i am in Canada and am in the market to find a nice 150 in the west. doesn't look like too many members are canadian???
well, i've seen all types of 150's now and am partial to the later models, H and up i believe with the newer panel.
i have seen a 150L for sale with about 150 hours on the engine since major... it was done though in 2000 or 2001 and as you can see barely flown since. oil analysis indicated improvement after about 15hours of running. could there other items to be cautious of?
airfram time is high 8,000 hours or so.

any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Welcome to the club, Pete!

the G model was the first with the updated panel.

There are quite a few Canadians in the club!

I'm in the Rocky Mountain trench with the Purcells right beside me. Cranbrook, Fairmont, Invermere, Golden is the valley.

Cool! In July I flew to the east then to the north of you, and then drove to the south and the west of you.

Anyhow, you've found the right place to help you buy a 150!

Welcome to the club Pete, hope you find a nice 150/152 to call your own. My 152 has over 13000 hours on engine and airframe, it has been well cared for over the years. I have not had any problems with it. Sometimes low time aircraft are the ones to avoid, they are not flown enough. Having a prebuy inspection by a good A&P is worth the money.
See you at Clinton?

Welcome aboard Pete ! smile
According to Transport Canada the 2006 statistics from TC show an average of 33 hrs of flight time per year per private aircraft. It's not unusual to find such a low time engine after 7 years on a private airplane.

There's a nice Aerobat 150K tailwheel for sale (27K$) in the september Canadian trade plane, right in BC. Let me know if you would like the phone number

See that? You haven't been in the Club a day and you've already made friends and gotten good advice. Good luck in your search for the perfect plane. Oh yeah, - good day, eh! grin

Yeah, i talked with him about it... he even sent me some photos of it. a nice looking aerobat! he converted it to a taildragger when he bought it and remains in that configuration.
i am looking for a tricycle gear though. i am halfway through my training and want to continue on with it afterwards. presently i'm in a tomahawk.
asking price of the other one i was referring too was around $35k canadian. has a new 250xl and garmin transponder too. 35k seems high to me though.
