Fright express... yikes!

No, no, that is probably the one outfit I do NOT want to fly for.

Please, Carl. Not Flight Express. Anybody but them. I'm a freight dog at heart and I would fly for ANY operation but them.

Yes, but these guys have more than earned their moniker.

I know of a crash, 1/2 mile short of 18L at KTPA... C-210. Had an extra stop on their route, but since they didn't have contract fuel they told him not to buy gas. Ran out of fuel and bit it. It is still PIC's problem, should have never taken off without enough fuel, but if they were putting the pressure on him about something as basic and necessary as FUEL?!

Not going to subject myself to that. Just a bunch of ice.

From what I read about trucking, that's exactly what I'm in for... pressure (for at least the first year, anyway!)

The old-timers handle it easily! If the Driver Manager (who likely has never been a trucker) keeps pushing, you just mention a phone call to the safety office or DOT and they change their tune real fast. NOBODY ever has to do anything unsafe or illegal... that's a personal choice.

In most company trucks, communications are handled by satelite over the internet, and everything is digitally recorded and documented. Dispatch can't say they didn't push you to run unsafely or illegally if there's any trumped-up suggestions later concerning work ethics, safety, or legality.

Fright Express might pressure their employees, but their employees let them do it! If it were that easy to find replacement pilots, they wouldn't have an ad in Craigs List 3 months running.

I don't have the qualifications required, so it's a mute point anyway!

That's right. Most of them are young and desperate, though...and that can and does sometimes lead to bad things. It's all a matter of knowing you have a choice.
