When I think of the problems I have had with my 1980 152 that had about 1100 hrs TT and 20 smoh. I would say check it out very, very well before even thinking of buying. Airplanes need to fly, sitting is had on them.

It is worth that price only to someone who places high value on a museum peace. As a working man's airplane, it's overpriced. I woudln't fly it as much, because I'd want to keep the time down. Just like not driving a collector car!But, if you're into that, you'd better jump! Somebody will buy it, regardless of how long it's been sitting.

Wasn't there someone last year that purchased a very low time 150, something like 300 hours or so, I wonder how he's made out?

Reminds me of the time my dad came across an ad in Hemming's Motor News for a 1942 Ford Business Coupe with only 42 miles on it. Well preserved and drivable. I had the same thought as Carl, you wouldn't want to drive it and add any miles. My dad's opinion was a complete opposite - "Are you kidding? It'd be like buying a brand-new car and driving it off the lot. I'd take it everywhere!"

I purchased an 800 hour Cessna 150 last year and have had nothing but good experiences with it.

My plane might be a special circumstance, since it spent about 20 years properly stored (according to the manual) and really had no aging of the major engine components at that time.

I think that it was an aerobat that had radio panel work done at Visalia.

That would be the William's Aerobat based in Livermore, Ca., just over the hill from me. I believe it had 430TT when they bought it, and the son flew it across the US and back with a photo journal here on the forum.

The 1995 white Camaro convertible that was in the picture with the B-25 that I posted I purchased as the second owner in 1998 two weeks before it turned three years old. It had 1030 total miles on the odometer when I got it home after driving 260 miles to get here. The older couple that previously owned it since new drove it only on nice Sunday afternoons. They had seven other cars as well. They traded the Camaro for a new 1998 Corvette. I often wonder how many miles they put on it. I did have to replace a rear main seal because of the low miles and lack of lubrication but I had an extended new vehicle warranty from the dealer at his cost, (a friend of mine who called me when it came in before it went on the lot since he knew I was looking), so it only cost me the $50 deductible. It is now almost going over 100K miles. I haven't let it sit.
