I have to agree with Jeff, the lock is just a symbolic gesture.

You may have a state-of-the-art lock on one side of the door, but you still only have two pins holding up the other side . . . assuming the crook doesn't want to really hurt the bird, getting in.

If I had a locking system which truly bolted the door thoroughly it would (A) push me over gross weight (I'm already a big boy) and (B) would be the most valuable thing in the plane so THAT's what the crooks would probably take!

Besides, there's something . . . quaint about my Cessna lock. If I forget my key, I just thump the wing strut with the palm of my hand and the door pops open for me. Does that qualify as a biometric security system?
