The rebuild kit is less expensive, but Robert has already rebuilt his twice. The kit does not repair worn shafts or bushings that can allow enough slop to not make proper contact. I normally wouldn't rebuild a mag switch more than once on my own plane, and probably would recommend replacement for anyone else.
