There was another "Tandem" landing last week, a 152 landed on top of a 172 at about 400 ft AGL near Cincinnati. Both fluttered down locked together into a gravel quarry. Amazingly, all three people survived, though I understand the 2 in the 172 were both badly hurt.

There was a post crash fire that destroyed the 172 but left the 152 on top largely intact. Odd.

The news reports hinted that "One of the pilots was so absorbed by the landing that he didn't notice the other airplane" Typical media conjecture.

The newscast also reported that there was some concern on the part of the investigators that "not all of the pilots were licensed" hmmmmm.

I've attached a picture.
