I've told this story before. I was hanging out in a Captain Jack Thomas airport, El Dorado, waiting to talk with my instructor some years ago, and an arthritic appearing elderly couple limped in after parking their rusted out 40 year old pickup near the front door. They just sat there and waited for a long time. After a while I asked if they were meeting someone at the airport. The gentleman said he was supposed to meet an agent of the IRS. He said the agent had called them and made them pay all they could, by check, last week, but now they will pay more, in cash, at the airport. I told them no real IRS agent would ever demand payment by phone, or in person at an airport. They just looked at each other and left. I felt bad for them. The scammers cause real harm to real people. Prison. That is what these scammers need to make them better humans.
