Welcome to the forum! I would certainly think you should be able to find a basic C150 trainer within your price range. It sounds like you only want to hold onto it for a few hundred hours at most. The best advice I can give is to get a prebuy inspection. Also, make sure the useful load of the prospective plane you are considering will support you, a flight instructor, and fuel. We have members all over the country that would probably be willing to look over a prospect for you that is not local. In the meantime, best of luck finding your plane. As you can imagine, the members in this club are pretty partial to the aircraft model you are looking for.
