Hello Geoff and Henry
thanks a lot for your really valuable advice; my buddy in the U.S. sits in Sequim WA and of course its too far for him to visit ( would even dare to ask him.
Also he is into the Swift scene, so he might not be a typical Cessna expert.
After thinking long and talking to my "better half", I decided to keep observing the market ( Heny, you put it right, plenty more will come along ) and you also directed my
focus on a 1972. Purchase prices seem to be very close and the planes offered are plentiful.. I will be more flexible when I am in the U.S. next time.
Maybe one day I might have a U.S. grandchild willing to travel with me ( my wife does not like flying, but is liberal enough to let me have my hobby).
your replies have really helped me, if you try to locate an old Volkswagen or want hints for your next European bicycle tour, I am happy to help you !!
Thanks again,
Peter
