Future resale value for a 152 will certainly increase if the new LSA weight rules are ratified. Even if not, I personally think the lower total cost of ownership of a 2-place aircraft like a 150 or 152 over the entire period of ownership vs a 4-place 172 will more than offset any difference in resale value you might see. It all boils down to your mission, and whether or not you can afford and are willing to pay the additional cost of owning a larger, slightly faster airplane.

There's a pilot at our field that owned an RV-10, also owns a Bonanza and a Sundancer LSA motorglider. He sold the RV-10 a couple years ago and mainly only flies the Bonanza, but the insurance on it is really getting him. He's kicking himself for selling the two-seat RV-10 and keeping the 6-seat Bonanza, all because the TCO is so much higher. But it trues out at 160+ knots.
