Some factors entering in to my decsisons are:
- My daughter will enter college in 9 years, ouch!
According to Bruce Williams, who gives financial advices in the newspapers: "Parents don't owe their kids a college education. Let the kids put themselves through college. They'll learn the values of money and being independent". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Indeed, I lived at home with my parents and went to the local state college, now Columbus State University. While my parents did feed and shelter me, and dad certainly did spend money on things for me, I worked (grocery store bag boy and labatory assistant to a professor at the college, and later near the end, an apprentice aircraft mechanic) and paid for my books and tuition, car insurance, gas, PPL lessons, and other things.
