On a 152 the box and the supports the box sits on are all riveted so these rivets would need to be drilled out.

Removing the box also eases the job of a thorough cleaning which then allows an application of a corrosion resistant epoxy coating, priming and painting for future protection and cosmetics.

A cut to fit 1/8" thick reinforced baffle material pad for the battery to sit on does a stellar job of absorbing the vibration so the battery doesn't sit directly on the metal box and rub on each other.

It goes without saying that a sealed gel battery goes a long, long way at keeping the effects of battery acid destruction at bay.
