I'm trying to get new seats for my 150l (73).
The only time you would need "new" seats for your plane is if the metal frames of the existing seats are broken beyond repair.
Shelby will replace all the "soft" pieces of the seat (fabric, padding, webbing). I believe he can also repair cracks or breaks in the metal frame.
150 seats are pretty small - no matter what you do, they'll never feel like the driver's seat of a modern luxury automobile. That being said, Shelby does some great magic.
Before I used Shelby I replaced the foam padding and webbing under the existing upholstery of my 150 seats. That made them go from "Sore" to "Tolerable". Later, I sent the seats to Shelby. They came back "Comfortable".
