Is a "standard" 100 hp C-150 sufficient for flying around Alaska? I would be a little nervous

A stock 150 is a fine aircraft for flying around Alaska ... you won't be operating at high altitude airstrips, but there are lots of airports at or near sea level and a few off-airfield opportunities that are perfectly safe (beaches, gravel bars, river beds).
