I earned most of my early flying money working in ground support of duster operations. I washed planes, fueled, put in oil, loaded poison (mostly DDT), flagged and chased parts; I loved ever minute of it.

I got many of my ratings that way (one of the few jobs for a high school kid that paid well). My first summer flagging and loading was the last year DDT was legal.
Interesting the next few years as folks tried to find something to replace it.
