I agree with you Hung, that is why it was a painful move for me to make. Shortly after - The apps started coming out on Android crazy

The design and control of the iOS is why apps appear first on the iPad. Developers know that an app will work on any version of the iPad, unlike the multiple versions they have to make for Android devices. Also, they know that an iOS update is not going to break their app, unlike what happens on Android.

I've resisted purchasing Apple products for the longest time due to their cost, but finally broke down a couple of weeks ago to buy a used Powerbook off Craig's List. I'd been buying the OS DVDs from Apple and then installing them on lower cost, generic PCs to create "Hackintoshes" for my living room and for my daughter's laptop. Unfortunately, I was spending too much time fixing the cheaply built PC hardware. PC vendors are in a race to the bottom, where since they all run Windows OS the only way to make more profit than the other guy is to save on build cost by cheaping out. I had her laptop in pieces spread across the dining room table to yet again replace a broken power jack when I decided enough is enough.

I currently run an Android tablet, but the next one will be an iPad. The set top box computer hooked up to my television will change to a Mac Mini as well. The short term savings just aren't worth the long term cost.
