I almost bought a BD-4 before the Cherokee. It seemed to work for everything except the backseat for the bigger grandkids, so really is a 2+2. RV-6 performance on 180 hp, but do your homework as there is a lot of upgrades/mods that should be done for safety and handling sake.
Original models have short wings and high stall speeds....lots of potential for stall/spin unless you keep the airspeed up on final. Some mods like to doors, wing extensions and such make it a very nice bird.
The one I wanted sold just as I was getting ready to pull the trigger. In the end, the ability to market it in the future was what really held me back. With the diabetes, I wanted the ability to unload a plane without waiting several years for the one buyer. Several of the airplanes I looked at had been on the market for that time frame, so it made me wonder.
