Even if the $13,000 airplane is totally hammered it could be a good deal for someone wanting to convert their plane to a big nosed 150. Lets look at what you would get if you bought the plane, based on the cost for elements necessary to make a 150/150 conversion.
150/150 STC - $7000
Engine core - $3500
Prop and spinner - $2700
Long range tanks - $4000
For a total of about $17,500.
Add some value for salvageable parts (control surfaces, wings, seats, etc.), say $5000 and you wind up with over $22,000 in value IF and only IF you are really interested in making a 150/150 conversion. The $9000 difference in purchase price and value will go a long way toward paying the labor bill for making the conversions.
