Well I tried the JB weld idea. No luck. It held ok but after a couple of hours flying it, the vibration must have been too much for the JB weld. It really is in a bad place. It is just right of center. The crack extends from the bottom where the air inlet is to about 3/4 of an inch up and then in a long line about 2 - 2 1/2 inches long. tapering back towards the bottom of the piece. To any of the A&P's on the board, would it be un airworthy to just tin snip the little piece off??? and have an odd shaped front to my cowling?

Called about a couple of the cowls on barnstormers and most where already cracked.
