Henry, no offense, but I gotta ask. Are you sure the door is unlocked? When I bought my plane last year the tab on the inside was stuck and I couldn't lock it. I don't think the previous owner ever locked it. It took some WD-40 and a lot of pulling (with needle nose pliers) to free it up. I can't remember if the door locks in the up position or down. I'm sure someone in the club does.
